Get your Date Location Right
Get your Date Location Right So you’ve arranged a date with the hot single you met online, now how about a location for the all-important first meeting? If you want to make a good impression, don’t go overboard. Picking a really pricey bar or restaurant can be seen as flashy and over-the-top – and when it comes to paying the bill, what if you’re expected to go halves or even foot the whole bill? Choosing something a bit more mid-range is a good start. Next, make sure the location is neutral to you both. That way, you avoid being disturbed by friends or even family! Also, it means you are in the same boat and neither of you has the advantage. This can be beneficial to a successful first date. Ask the other person if they have anything in mind – don’t just jump in with your own suggestion. Don’t forget to bear in mind the time of year and weather! Arranging a romantic walk in the park could be lovely on a mild spring or summer day, but on an Autumn evening it could end up a bit less comfortable. Try not to say too much with a location choice – for instance, a picnic can be great if you really know the other person, but for a first date it can be awkward sitting on your own in a field! Try to choose a busy location that will allow you both a ‘get-out’ clause if things don’t turn out too well! Aside from that, good luck and happy dating! |
