Dating Confessions

There are things we’d all prefer to forget especially on the dating front!  Here are some things which have gone wrong for other daters – take note, take heed, and learn!

Drunk Love

Sarah from Wolverhampton knows all too well about date disasters…”I had been chatting to this really nice guy, Andy, online.  We were with Parship so I thought he might be a keeper!  Well, we finally went on our first date and I was so nervous that I ended up drinking far too quickly.  Needless to say, I got tipsy – which was fine – and then horribly drunk.  Poor Andy was left having to haul me into a taxi at 10PM – far too early to finish the date.  We didn’t go on any further dates!”

Outfit Malfunction

Gemma, 30, from Fyffe has a dating confession: “ I was looking forward to my date with Peter so much.  We met on Match.com and had been emailing for weeks.  The emails were quite flirty so I knew there was chemistry.  We met at a really posh restaurant (his choice) and I had made a massive effort to look hot but classy.  Unfortunately, the dress I had chosen had a really awkward zip which kept catching the dress.  When I went to the toilet, the dress caught and stuck…with the zip halfway undone.

I tried desperately to get it working but it wouldn’t budge!  Goodness knows what Peter thought about my 30 minute loo trip!  I had to admit defeat and ask for a cab home.  Peter was nice but the flirt petered out (pun intended) after that.”

Damp Disaster

“I consider myself an OK-looking guy,” says Geoff,25, from Leeds.  “I lined up a date with Celia who I had met on Urban Social – it’s a cool site for professional singles.  She was hot in the picture and I had been single for 4 months so I couldn’t wait.  We met at a great bar in the town and she was better in real life.  I got so nervous that I began to sweat – even my hands clammed up!

My hand was so damp that when I went to touch her silky-clad back, it left a hand imprint…which other people in the bar thought hilarious.  Celia was embarrassed for me (and herself) but had a good sense of humour about it.  We went on a few more dates after that!”
